The 2015 GMC Canyon is a whole new truck, and the newest thinking in midsize trucks anywhere. If you need a truck, big or small, come see your friends at Gainesville Buick GMC, conveniently located not far from Palatka, Lake City, Newberry, and Ocala, right here in Gainesville, FL.
Toyota introduced the current Tacoma truck to the US market more than 10 years ago, and many aspects of it really show its age.
Both of these trucks offer 4-cylinder or V6 power but in both cases the Canyon outclasses the Tacoma. The base 4-cylinder motor in the Tacoma makes 159hp, 41 less than the Canyon. Choose the optional V6 and GMC gives you 305hp, compared to just 236hp from the top Tacoma motor. The Canyon gets nearly the same fuel economy as the Tacoma, or actually better in some configurations.
These 2 trucks share a very similar size, yet the Canyon gives you more interior room. In the crew cab truck, you get nearly 3 inches of extra legroom in the back seat, and 3 more extra in front when you choose the Canyon. Extended cab Canyons beat the Tacoma in headroom and legroom too.
No matter how you configure your GMC Canyon you get a 6 speed transmission; 2- or 4-wheel drive, 4- or 6-cylinder, automatic or manual. The Tacoma does offer 6 speeds, but on with the V6 and only a manual, the automatic is just a 5-speed. Go with the smaller 4-cylinder motor in the Toyota and you are stuck with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic.
That only touches on the basics, look at the interior and tech features, and you’ll really see how the 2015 GMC Canyon is cutting edge. The staff at Gainesville Buick GMC knows trucks and can help you find the perfect one, whether it is for work or play in Palatka, Lake City, Newberry, or Ocala, FL.View Inventory
